Priano Carmeized Onion & Garlic Pasta Sauce

Price: $ 1.79
Size: 24oz.
RATING: $$$

Have always been a big fan of Italian food and weekly prepare a dish centered around pasta. Aldi sells two main brands of Italian foods and sauces now, Priano and Reggano. The Priano brand appears to be slightly higher end. Recently we have tried the Priano Carmelized Onion and Garlic Pasta Sauce.
The quality of the sauce is good with a slightly heavier consistency closer to what you might find with a brand name like Prego. Overall the flavor is a slightly sweet tomato base with hints of onion and garlic as promised on the label.
Pricing is competitive against brand names but slightly higher than a store’s branded offering such as Wegman’s. The quality of product appears similar as well with the main driving factor being taste. As seen in the photo spices and small chunks of garlic and onion are visible in the sauce.

This is a fair to good product at Aldis. Competitive against major labels price wise but have seen cheaper prices for store’s branded offerings. Quality and flavor are similar to others I have tried.
